Boutique Hotel in Cardona

Cardona is a medieval jewel in Catalonia, renowned for its rich history, imposing castle and fascinating salt mines. Although the official date of its foundation is the 23rd of April 986, the day on which Count Borrell II granted it the "2nd Town Charter", with this document currently housed in the town's historical archives, Cardona existed long before then, as evidenced by the remains of Iberian artefacts. The town was founded at the end of the 10th century at the foot of the castle of Cardona, and since then it has been the scene of numerous important events that have marked the history and culture of our country.

The building that now houses the Hotel Boutique Bremon was built in the 19th century and was established as a convent before becoming the school of the Vedruna Carmelite nuns. Its architecture and history reflect the evolution of the Cardona community and its commitment to education and social welfare. It is fair to say that the name Bremon was chosen in honour of the Viscount of Cardona, who in the 11th century ordered the construction of one of the most admired Romanesque jewels of our territory, the "Col·legiata aquisgransena de Sant Vicenç" (Church of Sant Vicenç), located where the Hotel Boutique Bremon now stands.
